Hello, my name is Jennifer Swan and I work in my private counselling practice from my home office in Ethelton South Australia. I am a registered Medicare Provider and a Registered NDIS Provider and able to assist people with counselling, facilitating therapeutic groups and organising community linkage and advocacy. Please feel free to call me if you would like to discuss booking a counselling session or would like to work in partnership to develop a group project.
Some of the problems I speak with people about include depression, anxiety, homelessness, gender and sexuality issues, social isolation and loneliness, drug and alcohol problems, the effects of personal and state violence, mental health struggles, discrimination and bullying, support with loss and grief, poverty, effects of colonisation, struggles with eating, hoarding, suicidal feelings, relationship struggles and the effects of trauma. I recognise that these problems have long and complex histories, but finding creative ways to join together to resist their undermining effects, can help to stop these problems from taking over peoples lives.
I work from a position that 'the problem is the problem, not the person' as a way to strengthen peoples abilities to be hopeful and resilient in the face of sometimes overwhelming circumstances. You can expect to be treated with kindness and respect and I really look forward to meeting you.
If you are unable to attend your session please notify at least 24 hours prior and we can reschedule. If you do not attend your session, you will be charged for the session you booked.
